• Who we are.

We are a non-profit organisation committed to rescuing and rehoming dogs and puppies that end up homeless, dumped or mistreated. We are on a farm located in Albany - North of Auckland, an animal paradise, where each animal is cared for, socialised and rehabilitated physically and mentally. We have a thorough adoption process and focus on getting the perfect match between canine and human. We work with many other rescues taking surplus puppies and dogs as well as working with Animal Shelters who have young pups or beautiful dogs stuck in the pound.

We believe that all dogs should socialise and after an initial time out period to unwind in our secure kennels they will be introduced slowly to the pack. We take our rescues into our homes including puppies and set them up as best we can to be awesome adjusted puppies or dogs for their new owners.

We do not have fosters or volunteers but our small team achieves wonders. We only take in as many pups as we can physically and mentally help so each dog is getting the best possible outcome from our team.

We are not about numbers coming through our rescue, we will have a dog or puppy until we feel we have found the perfect home for her or him.

  • Our Rescues.

We work very closely with Bay of Islands Rescue with around 80 percent of our animals coming from Northland and the remaining 20 percent from Animal Shelters, other rescues or public in dire need.

Sometimes we do not know what dogs or puppies are coming to us until they arrive. At this point, we assess each animal, how we can best help them and how long they might need to stay with us. If they need to stay with us for six months they will, if they are happy and healthy we get them vet checked, vaccinated and assess their temperament to get them ready for their forever home. We will not let puppies go before 8 weeks old.

We do have pregnant mothers that come to us , usually they are very emaciated so we have to work hard to get mum healthy to give birth and feed her pups. It is an amazing journey from birth to 8 weeks later when our pups are ready to leave the nest.

We will try our best to estimate the breed and size of puppies but please understand the majority of rescue puppies do not come with parents details and in some cases we do not know who the mother or the father are.

The best way to keep up to date with the dogs we have ready to be rehomed is to follow our facebook page.

  • Adoption.

If you are interested in adopting one of our rescues, we require an adoption form to be completed and approved prior to meeting our puppies & dogs.

Our adoption fee is $345 which includes microchipping, vaccinations & worming treatments while with us and desexing when the time is right.

At this stage due to the increased difficulty in pet owners trying to find pet friendly rental properties we only adopt to home owners or family owned properties. We will only adopt to South Island if the new owners are committed to flying up and collecting the puppy/dog from our property.

You must have a fully fenced property with adequate space for the size dog you will be adopting. Half of our rescue dogs have possibly spent life on a chain so we do not condone chaining a dog. We also expect the dog or puppy to be allowed inside and adequate shelter when they are outside.

Desexing is mandatory to stop more unwanted puppies being born into harsh environments where some don’t have the luck to end up in a rescue.
